We are committed to protecting the personal information of everyone who seeks employment with us, and this policy sets out our commitment to you regarding your privacy during the course of our recruitment processes. We abide by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Privacy Principles in the New Zealand Privacy Act 1993.

Before you submit your application, please read this statement regarding the use of your personal information. Please do not submit any information if you do not want it to be dealt with in accordance with the below policy.

What information will we collect?

During the recruitment process, we will collect personal information (including 'sensitive information') from you including the following:

  •  Name;
  •  Address;
  •  Phone and other contact details;
  •  Current occupation and employment history;
  •  Education qualifications;
  • Proof of citizenship or residency
  • Professional licenses;
  • Taxation and banking information;
  •  Referee details;
  •  Results of psychometric tests;
  •  Security checks;
  •  Video interviews; and
  •  Medical and police checks.

You might also need to provide personal information about other individuals to us (e.g. your referee contact details).  If so, we rely on you to inform those individuals that you are providing their personal information to us and to advise them about this policy statement.

How will this information be collected?

We may collect your information in a number of ways, including:

·         Directly from you (such as from your PageUp profile, application form, interviews, over the phone, written correspondence and through webforms and IT systems);

·         From publicly available sources (such as Facebook and LinkedIn); and

·         From third parties (such conference organisers, recruitment agencies, references and from psychometric test results, identity checks and police checks).

If you choose not to provide certain personal information, we may not be able to provide you with direct correspondence regarding employment opportunities with us or progress an existing application.

How we store your information

We may store your personal information in hard copy or electronic format, in storage facilities that we own and operate ourselves, or that are owned and operated by our service providers. We take reasonable steps to maintain the security of your personal information and to protect it from unauthorised disclosure.

How we use your information

We may use your information for recruitment and engagement purposes and for providing you with marketing correspondence and other information regarding employment or engagement. We may also use your personal information to verify your identity and other details, contact referees and conduct police and other checks.

Who do we disclose your information to?

We may also disclose information to service providers such as recruitment agencies or other third parties who assist us in the recruitment process.  Where applicable information is shared with these third parties, they are obliged to observe the confidential nature of such information and are prohibited from using any or all of this information other than for the purpose for which it was provided.  We will also disclose information to a law enforcement agency if we are requested to do so by that agency in relation to suspected unlawful activity.

Some of our associated companies with whom we share personal information may be located overseas, including in New Zealand, Singapore and Canada. These associated companies will often be subject to privacy and confidentiality obligations dictated by laws in their own jurisdictions. Nevertheless, we will take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to ensure that the overseas recipient does not breach relevant privacy law or principles.

We do not sell or trade your personal information.

Your agreement to provide accurate information

You agree to provide your personal information, which is in all respects true, complete, accurate and up to date and is not, in any respect, misleading, deceptive or inaccurate or likely to be misleading or deceptive.

Procedures for access and correction of personal information

You are encouraged to help us keep your personal information accurate, complete and up-to-date by updating your PageUp profile via the Applicant login page on our careers website.

Privacy complaints

You may also use the above contact details to notify us of any privacy complaint you have against us, including if you think that we have failed to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles or any binding APP code that has been registered under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

All such enquiries or complaints will be taken seriously and handled with impartiality and discretion.

If you have lodged a complaint we will thoroughly investigate it and ascertain all relevant facts.  During our investigation we may need to seek further information from you as to the nature of or factual circumstances surrounding your complaint.

We will endeavour to respond to you promptly and to offer a practical solution which is consistent with our legal obligations.
