By completing and submitting an application for a position with a relevant Domayne® franchisee (each a Relevant Hiring Entity) on this website (Applicant), the Applicant confirms consent for the personal information of the Applicant being collected by the Relevant Hiring Entity. Each Relevant Hiring Entity that is an independent franchisee has been granted a franchise and a limited licence to use the Domayne® trade mark by a subsidiary of Harvey Norman Holdings Limited (HNHL).

The Relevant Hiring Entity will collect personal information of the Applicant for the purpose of assessing the suitability of an Applicant or a talent pool, and to contact the Applicant to discuss their application. The personal details of the Applicant will be stored securely by the Relevant Hiring Entity for a reasonable period of time after receipt of the application. When the personal details of an Applicant are no longer required, they will be disposed of in accordance with internal policies and procedures of the Relevant Hiring Entity. The Relevant Hiring Entity in which you apply for a position or submit an expression of interest is committed to managing your personal information openly and transparently and to keeping your personal information safe. The Relevant Hiring Entity will take all necessary measures to fulfill this commitment, including to:

What sorts of personal information is collected?
The Relevant Hiring Entity will only collect from you information that you chose to provide to in order to assess your suitability for an employment position that you have applied for or information that you provide to the Relevant Hiring Entity in order to file an expression of interest in future employment positions. The Relevant Hiring Entity will only collect information that is necessary and relevant to the relationship with you.
Depending on the exact nature of our relationship with you, the Relevant Hiring Entity may request that you provide some or all of the following information:
- information to initially identify you, including your name, home address and your date of birth;
- information to contact you, including your telephone number, mobile number, email address, mailing address;
- information to confirm your identity, including your drivers licence number, passport details, working visa, Medicare card;
- information reasonably expected to be found or requested when submitting an employment application or resume including but not limited to information relating to your previous employers, work experience, employment history, period of service, criminal history, legal right to work in Australia, information with respect to any physical limitations that may impact on your ability to perform the inherent requirements of the position and referee contact details.
Why is your personal information required?
The Relevant Hiring Entity requires your personal information in order to assess your suitability for an advertised employment position or an expression of interest in future positions and to contact you to discuss your application.
The Relevant Hiring Entity may also use your personal information for other reasons, including:
(a) preventing fraud and other criminal activities; and
(b) to comply with legal obligations.
There is no obligation for you to provide any of your personal information, but if you choose not to provide us with your personal information, the Relevant Hiring Entity may not be able to assess your suitability for an advertised employment position or talent pool, or make an offer of employment to you.
How does the Relevant Hiring Entity collect your personal information?
The Relevant Hiring Entity may collect your personal information:
(a) directly from you, either in person or over the phone;
(b) when you apply for an advertised employment position by any means including on any website where the position is advertised, in person or via phone or email;
(c) on submission of a resume or expression of interest for an advertised position;
(e) when you access and interact with any website where a position is advertised;
(f) from publicly available sources, for example, the electoral role, the telephone directory or from other websites; or
(g) from other sources.
The Relevant Hiring Entity will always collect your personal information directly from you unless it is impracticable to do so. This would usually be done through application forms, over the telephone, in person or over the internet.
Collecting personal information about others
You represent to us that where you provide personal information to us about another person, you are authorised to provide that information to us, and that you will inform that person about the contents of this privacy policy including who we are, how we use and disclose personal information, and that they can gain access to, and correct, that information.
Unsolicited personal information
From time to time, the Relevant Hiring Entity may receive personal information about you that was not requested or taken steps to come to know. In these circumstances, the Relevant Hiring Entity will only hold onto such information as permitted by the Act. How does the Relevant Hiring Entity use or disclose your personal information?
The Relevant Hiring Entity may use and disclose your personal information for the purposes for which it was collected or for a related purpose such as:
(a) to consider your employment application and/or expression of interest for an advertised position;
(b) to facilitate and process your employment application and/or expression of interest;
(c) to carry out or respond to your requests;
(d) to third party service providers that the Relevant Hiring Entity may engage from time to time in order to assist with processing employment applications, expressions of interest or maintaining any databases related to maintaining or processing employment applications;
(e) for regulatory reporting and compliance with legal obligations;
(f) to various regulatory bodies and law enforcement officials and agencies to protect against fraud and for related security purposes; and
(g) to consider any concerns or complaints you may raise against the Relevant Hiring Entity.
By agreeing to accept the terms of this privacy policy and in providing your personal information, you are taken to have consented to the use of your personal information for the above purposes.
At the time that your personal information is collected, the Relevant Hiring Entity will make it clear to you why your information is being collected, including through this privacy policy where appropriate.

Wherever possible, the Relevant Hiring Entity will limit the information provided to independent third parties to that information required for those third parties to properly perform their functions. Usually, the Relevant Hiring Entity will be able to provide you with access to your personal information upon receipt of your written request, either by email sent to HNPrivacy.Officer@au.harveynorman.com or by post sent to The Privacy Officer, A1 Richmond Road, Homebush West, NSW 2140, and confirmation of your identity. There are some limited circumstances in which the Relevant Hiring Entity may not be able to provide you with access to your personal information when requested. Such circumstances might include where access would pose a serious threat to the life, health or safety of another person or where such access would unreasonably impact on the privacy of others.
Where you request access to your personal information, the Relevant Hiring Entity will respond to any such request in accordance with the Act.
The Relevant Hiring Entity may recover from you reasonable costs of supplying you with access to your personal information but will not charge you for any request you might make to access your information.

The Relevant Hiring Entity endeavours to ensure that the information it holds about you is accurate, complete, up-to-date, relevant and not misleading.
