YOUR PRIVACY

TLC Aged Care Pty Ltd is committed to ensuring that privacy is respected in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.

TLC Aged Care collects personal information about residents, their families, staff and potential employees.  We do not collect personal information about visitors to our website who will remain anonymous unless they choose to contact us.

The types of personal information collected by TLC Aged Care include the following:

  1. Names

  2. Dates of birth

  3. Details of next of kin / emergency contact

  4. Curriculum Vitae and employment history

  5. Salary and employment entitlements

  6. Bank account details

  7. Tax file number

  8. Medicare number

  9. Medical reports and/or certificates

In the case of staff and potential employees, we collect personal information for the purposes of their employment or potential employment with TLC Aged Care.

TLC Aged Care collects personal information in writing, by telephone, face to face communications, email and via our website.  All personal information collected is stored securely by us in either hard copy files or in electronic form.

Access to personal information collected by TLC Aged Care is restricted to management staff.

If an individual about whom TLC Aged Care holds personal information wishes to access that information for the purpose of viewing it or correcting it, they must make a request in writing to the Privacy Officer, Kerryn Dillon at kerryn.dillon@tlcagedcare.com.au.

In the event that a request for access to personal information is refused, the person who requested the information may lodge a formal complaint with the Privacy Officer in writing stating the grounds on which the complaint is being made.  Such complaint shall be referred to management to review. During the review process, the management team may wish to contact the complainant to ask further questions or seek clarification of matters raised in the complaint before a final decision is made.  The final decision shall be issued to the person in writing stating the reasons for the decision.

The complaints process outlined about may be used by persons as a mechanism to make a complaint in circumstances where a person believes that there has been a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles.  Such complaints shall be referred to management for review before a written decision is issued relation to the complaint.  A copy of the decision shall be given to the complainant with reasons for the decision.

TLC Aged Care does not disclose personal information in any overseas recipients.  Should this situation change in the future, TLC Aged care will update its policy.
