The National Archives of Australia treats all personal information as confidential.
The Privacy Act 1988 is the key legislation designed to protect your rights and prevent misuse of personal information collected by Australian Government agencies. Information received by the National Archives is protected from unauthorised use and disclosure by virtue of specific provisions in the Crimes Act 1914, Public Service Act 1999 and the Public Service Regulations 1999.

Your personal information will not be disclosed unless the law permits it or you give permission.

Applicants placed on a merit list may be contacted by another agency looking to fill a similar vacant position.  Applicants will have the opportunity to opt-out of this process as part of their application form.
