Privacy Statement

In submitting an employment application or registering a profile on our recruitment database, you will be asked to provide the University of Adelaide with your personal information.

Collection and Use

Personal information you provide as part of this process will be held securely in accordance with the University of Adelaide's Privacy Policy and Management Plan. It will used by the University to assess and administer your application for employment in accordance with the University's recruitment and administrative practices (including conducting reference checks and verifying your qualifications). The information may also be used for a related secondary purpose, such as


  • to monitor and review the University's recruitment practices
  • for the University's planning purposes


If your application contains personal information of others (e.g. referee names and contact details), please inform them that you are disclosing their information to the University of Adelaide.

If your application is successful, the University will retain your information as part of your employment records. If your application is unsuccessful, the University will retain your information on its recruitment database and may use this information to assess your suitability for other employment opportunities with the University. Should you wish to be removed from this database, please email with the words "Remove from recruitment database" in the subject line.

Disclosure to third parties

Your personal information may be disclosed to professional advisers and consultants engaged by the University, or to comply with any legal or regulatory obligations.

The University's online recruitment service and recruitment database is hosted by a service provider. Information that you submit through the online recruitment system will be stored on the service provider's servers. The service provider is required to comply with Australian Privacy law.

If you do not provide the information

If you do not provide all of the required personal information, it may not be possible for the University to consider your application for employment or add you to the University's recruitment database.

Access and correction

Please refer to the University of Adelaide's Privacy Policy and Management Plan for details on how you may access or correct your personal information that is held by the University, or how to lodge a complaint about a breach of your privacy.
