Newcrest respects your privacy and is committed to compliance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This statement is to inform you of Newcrest's policy and practices regarding the collection, use, disclosure and management of personal information that we gather about you. Collection, Use and Disclosure

By making an on-line application for a position with Newcrest, you will be voluntarily supplying personal information (which may include health and sensitive information) about you. Newcrest may also ask you for other information such as information on your professional interests and the roles that you are interested in.

Newcrest will use the personal information you supply and any other information collected about you only for the purpose of assessing your application for internship or employment and/or to contact you regarding an employment opportunity. Unless otherwise required or authorised by law, any personal information obtained will only be used or disclosed for these purposes to persons within Newcrest or to authorised service providers who assist with the recruitment and selection processes. These external service providers will be bound by similar privacy obligations.

Sensitive Information     

Personal information revealing ethnic or racial origin, political opinions and memberships, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union or professional association membership, sexual preferences or practices, criminal record or details of health or genetic information are sensitive in nature. Newcrest does not wish to collect or process sensitive personal information unless it is relevant to your application for employment and except as necessary to comply with applicable laws and regulations.  Therefore, please carefully assess the necessity of disclosing any sensitive information before you communicate such information to Newcrest.

Data Security

Newcrest will take reasonable steps to protect personal information held from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Personal information no longer required will be destroyed or made permanently unidentifiable as far as permissible by law.

Access

Newcrest wishes to ensure that personal information it holds about you is accurate, complete and up to date.

After submitting your application, you can complete, correct or update your resume and personal information at any time by logging onto your profile via the "Already Applied" link on the careers section of our website. Should you no longer wish for Newcrest to store your details on the applicant database, you have the option to remove your personal details and applications by logging into your profile.

Accuracy

By registering your application, you are certifying that the information you provide to Newcrest is correct and truthful.

No Guarantee of Employment

Acceptance of registration of your application and resume or receipt of information by Newcrest does not constitute an undertaking to make an offer of employment nor an undertaking to employ you.
