How we collect your information

When you apply for a position with Mind Australia Limited ABN 22 005 063 589 (Mind, we), you will be asked to give us some personal information for the purposes set out below. This information generally includes your name, contact details, date of birth, gender, citizenship, details of your previous employment, your qualifications and emergency contact details, and sensitive information (including health information).

This information will be collected directly from you, as you enter data into the employment portal. From time to time other people such as previous employers and your nominated referees may also provide us with information about you. In some circumstances, information may be provided to us by other third parties such as recruiters.

If there is a legal requirement for you to supply the information (for example, citizenship details for immigration law purposes) you will be informed at the time of supplying this information.

Why we collect your information

Mind collects personal information that is necessary to enable us to process your employment application, to assist it in protecting the health and safety of its workers and clients, and to comply with law.

Use of personal information

Your personal information which is collected by Mind will only be used or disclosed for:

  • the purpose for which it was collected;
  • any related purpose for which it would reasonably be expected to be used or disclosed;
  • a purpose required or permitted by law; or
  • a purpose for which you have provided consent.

The third parties to which your personal information may be disclosed include:

(a) Home Base Services Limited and The Haven Foundation;

(b) any contractor Mind engages to provide IT services where access to the information is required as part of the provision of the services;

(c) third party participants on an interview panel where appropriate, which may include an employee of a State or Territory health body or an individual who has used mental health services.

Where we disclose your personal information to our staff, contractors or third party interview panellists, we will require them to keep it confidential and only use it in accordance with this privacy policy.
