Privacy Policy

Ertech is the collective term for Ertech Pty Ltd and its associated entities

Policy Statement
Ertech is committed to protecting your privacy and we recognise that you have the right to control how your personal information is collected and used and that providing personal information is an act of trust.

This policy statement applies to personal information collected by Ertech. The following exclusions apply:

  1. acts or practices of Ertech that are directly related to employee records of current or former employees; and
  2. information about companies, individual partners or sole traders acting in a business capacity.

Objectives
To ensure information is received, recorded, accessed and stored appropriately to maintain confidentiality and to remain compliant with the Privacy Act 1988 (as amended) and all relevant legislation.

The Privacy Act
Ertech is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) set out in Schedule 1 of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) which regulate the collection, use, storage, security and disclosure of personal and sensitive information.  In providing services to you, Ertech will be transparent about how and why it collects and uses your information.
You have the right to know what information an organisation holds about you and to have any information about you that is incorrect amended.

Collecting Information About You
Ertech will only collect personal information directly from you which is necessary for the purpose of conducting its business.
As Ertech has different business units and entities, we may need to disclose personal information within the group in order to conduct our business.  This may include a disclosure to a different business unit situated in other jurisdictions.

Examples of the personal information collected are listed below:

  • Name, home address, email address and phone number
  • Diversity data include gender, age and ethnicity
  • Personal qualifications, skills and experience
  • Police and Background check information
  • Conflicts of interest to Ertech.
  • Company injury statistics and details.
  • Memberships including CCI and other professional associations.
  • Employee classifications and hourly rates.
  • Employment engagement types i.e. apprentices, overseas workers, indigenous sourcing strategy and use of other subcontractors.

Using and Disclosing Your Personal Information
Any personal information given to Ertech will be used solely for the purpose given and will not be shared or sold, unless required or authorised under the exemptions set out in the Privacy Act. We may be required to use and / or disclose your information; if we believe that the use and / or disclosure is necessary to lessen or prevent a serious threat to the life, health or safety of any individual, or to public health or safety; if we suspect that unlawful activity, or misconduct of a serious nature, is being or may be engaged in; or if we are required to or authorised by law.
We may be required to disclose Personal Information to overseas recipients where we may be working with an overseas entity. If this was necessary, we would take all reasonable steps to ensure that the recipients of the information do not breach the requirements of the APPs or obtain your consent to the disclosure if the overseas entity did not meet the APPs.

Collection of Sensitive Information
Ertech will not collect sensitive information about you unless it is reasonably necessary to collect this information to carry out our business activities and you consent to the collection of this information. Ertech will not collect sensitive information about you that reveals your political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs or affiliations, or details of sexual orientation.

Storage and Security of Your Personal Information
Ertech will take all reasonable steps to keep any personal information which we use or disclose protected from loss, misuse, interference, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Email
Any email communications Ertech receives from you will only be used for the purpose given and are subject to the conditions set out in this Privacy Policy. Please note, as email communication is not secure; while Ertech will endeavour to take reasonable steps to protect the personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modifications or disclosure, any personal information you send via email is done so at your own risk.

Accessing Your Personal Information
You can request access to any of your personal information that Ertech holds at any time. This right is subject to some exceptions allowed by law.
You can also request the correction of any of your personal information that Ertech holds.  Ertech will take reasonable steps to make appropriate corrections to personal information, having regard to the purpose for which the personal information is held, so that it is accurate, complete and up-to-date.  To seek access to, or correction of, your personal information, please contact Ertech as follows: recruitment@ertech.com.au

Policy Statement Reviews
Ertech reviews and revises its policies regularly.  Accordingly, Ertech reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy Statement at any time.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, Ertech’s privacy practices, or you wish to receive a copy of this Privacy Policy or make a privacy complaint, please contact Ertech.
