The E-Recruitment tool (“Tool”) is used by the companies belonging to the Schindler Group (collectively “Us” or “We”) to publish open positions Group-wide. It allows potential candidates to search for and apply to such positions and to register your candidate profile for potential future openings.
Purpose of Data Processing
By registering your candidate profile in the Tool, you provide us with personal and contact data, data on education/training, work experience, qualifications, job preferences etc. (“Data”). Your Data may be used for recruitment purposes and we may collect personal or sensitive information about you when:
- You complete one of our registration forms or provide any other information in connection with your application
- We receive any reference about you
- We receive results of inquiries that we might make of your former employers, work colleagues, professional associations or registration body
- We receive the results of any competency or background checks including credit and criminal record checks
- We collect information about you from public domain sources
- You provide us with any additional information about you
Access to Data
Your Data will be accessible to our personnel involved in the recruitment process in Australia. Your Data may also be accessed and processed by authorised third parties providing recruitment assessment services for Us in Australia only. We require that these parties agree to process your Data in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with this Privacy Statement and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures. Except for your express consent or otherwise legally required we do not share your Data with any other third parties.
Your Data will be accessible to Schindler personnel involved in the recruitment process worldwide regarding possible or actual work placements. Your Data may also be accessed and processed by authorized third parties providing recruitment assessment services for Us. Those third parties have agreed to process your Data in accordance with the Schindler Group’s Data Protection Policy. Except for your express consent or otherwise legally required We do not share your Data with any other third parties.
We are a global organization having affiliates, business processes, management structures and technical systems that cross-national borders. Your Data might be transferred outside the country where you use our website or otherwise provide Us with your Data (“Original Country”). This includes countries that provide for a lower data protection level than the Original Country or no data protection level. By submitting your Data you consent to such transfers. However, the Schindler Group has and will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the processing of your Data is conducted in accordance with this Privacy Statement anywhere in the world.
Storage and Retention of Data
Safeguarding the privacy of your information is important to us, whether you interact with us personally, by phone, mail, over the internet or other electronic mediums. We hold personal information in secure computer storage facilities, and take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference and loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We may need to maintain records for a significant period however, when we consider information is no longer required, we will remove any details that will identify you or we will securely destroy the records.
If you have created a profile with Schindler via our website, you are able to review and edit your personal information at any time by logging into your account and reviewing your profile. If you wish to remove the submitted Data you can delete your candidate profile in the tool at any time. If you close your profile with Schindler Group we may retain personal information from your account as and where required by law.
Data Quality
You confirm that your Data is true, accurate and complete, not misleading and that you hold all academic and professional qualifications claimed.
We encourage you to access your candidate profile from time to time to ensure that your Data is still up-to-date.
